Teacher/Childcare Provider Training-- Teaching Science using Creative Dramatics
Drama is an effective teaching tool. It can be used to teach any subject even science! Drama provides an active learning experience. When students are able to move through information they learn it more completely. Kinesthetic learning serves the needs of any learning style. Learning is experienced through all the senses. The joy of learning is evident throughout the active learning experience. The human body is a wonderful subject to explore through drama, as are animals and their behavior and practices with children. Teachers will explore the science areas mentioned above and will learn how they may create creative dramatics curriculum from science topics they wish to teach. They will learn to from the curriculum in the shape of scenes, improvisation, movement, projects (making masks, puppets, set, props etc.) fun activities and games.
